Illini Union Board
Student Programming
The Illini Union Board produces more than 150 programs each year,
including U of I mainstays like the I-Book, fall and spring Musicals,
African-American Homecoming, lectures, and small concerts..
The mission of the Faculty Staff Social Committee (FSSC), as charged
by the Illini Union, is to develop, administer and supervise social,
cultural, education and recreational activities of a diverse nature
for the University faculty/staff and retiree community. In so doing,
the Committee shall identify and respond to the needs of this
community while promoting an enjoyable setting.
Organization
Located in room 227 of the Illini Union, Illini Union Board has ten programming
areas that are educational, social, or cultural in nature. A student Board
member coordinates each programming area, with the support of a staff adviser.
Each area has two to five committees comprised of student volunteers that produce
the many programs.

The Illini Union Board also plays an important role as the advisory
board for the Illini Union and its many operations and departments.
Get Involved
Students are encouraged to get involved in planning, hosting and evaluating these
events. Recruitment occurs throughout the year, so stop by Illini Union room 227,
